Cargo terminal cultivates its routes
Baku Cargo Terminal in Azerbaijan has just celebrated its seconds anniversary. It currently represents the biggest and most technically advanced cargo terminal in CIS and offers a complete range of cargo services in a state-of-the-art infrastructure which is located on one of the oldest routes, namely the Silk Way, which links East and West and facilitates the exchange of business, cultures, technologies and ideas.
Its useful location at Heydar Aliyev International airport has turned Baku into a transfer zone: the technical base of the Cargo Terminal provides an extensive and specialized storage area for the handling of a wide range of cargo, door-to-door.
All cargo movement is logged by specially designed computer program, Cielo, which tracks every box, helps efficiently allocate resources and reduces the time taken for handling operations.
A wide variety of terminal services, including all types of ramp handling product that meet international requirements, are available to cargo operators. Freight specialist Cargolux is presently the biggest operator, with four flights a day.
